For Teams

Bespoke Leadership and Team Experiences.

Better meetings begin with the way we meet.

The Situation

Most organisations do not lack talented people.

But they do not always access the full intelligence, experience and creativity of those people when they come together.

Meetings can become rushed. The same voices can dominate. People can become careful about what they say. Leaders can feel responsible for keeping things moving and having the answers.

And sometimes there is a sense that there is much more potential in the room than the conversation is allowing to emerge.

Thirty Years of Practice

What changes when we create different conditions.

For more than thirty years, I have been interested in what changes when we create different conditions for people to meet.

I have facilitated and led groups in many different settings, from staff and leadership teams to parent groups, community gatherings and organisational development.

I have worked with founders and teams in Hong Kong and Europe, supporting recruitment, leadership, vision, communication and the more complex work of bringing different perspectives together around a shared purpose.

Again and again, I have seen what happens when people are given enough room to become genuinely present.

People contribute more fully.

Curiosity returns.

Trust can deepen.

Ideas begin to connect.

People hear perspectives they might otherwise have missed.

And sometimes something new emerges between people that no one person brought into the room alone.

I call this Natural Wisdom.

Connected Presence Practice™
Natural Wisdom

Not one person having the answer.

Natural Wisdom is what can emerge when people listen deeply enough, contribute honestly enough and remain open enough for a new possibility to take shape between them.

This is at the heart of Connected Presence Practice™.

Connected Presence is the practice that helps create the conditions for deeper listening, more honest contribution, fresh thinking and wiser decision making.

Not creativity for creativity's sake.

It is about moving beyond familiar answers and making room for something that has not yet been thought.

A Bespoke Experience

I do not offer an off the shelf meeting formula.

I begin by understanding your organisation. Where do leaders feel they are carrying too much responsibility for finding the answer? And where is there potential in the organisation that you sense is not yet being fully accessed?

From there, I create a bespoke Connected Presence experience around the needs of your leaders, teams and organisation.

Meetings where more voices can genuinely contribute

Creating the conditions for fuller participation, where each person feels welcome enough to bring their real thinking.

Strengthening trust and collaboration

Working with the relational quality that makes genuine collaboration possible, not just being in the room together.

Working with different perspectives without losing connection

Holding space for different experiences, cultures and points of view in a way that deepens rather than divides.

Space for vision and fresh thinking

Room to move beyond familiar answers and let something take shape that has not yet been thought.

Supporting more inspired decision making

Decisions that genuinely carry the intelligence and experience of everyone who contributed to them.

Experienced, not explained

People do not simply learn about Connected Presence. They experience it for themselves, and notice what changes in their own listening, thinking and contribution when the conditions around the conversation change. From there, we can explore how leaders begin creating those conditions for the people they lead.

Julie Lam
Why work with me?

Connected Presence did not begin as a theory.

This work has grown from more than thirty years of practical experience with people, teams and human development.

I began my career in hotel management, where I first became fascinated by the experience we create for other people.

I went on to found and lead schools in Hong Kong, recruiting and developing teams and leaders, building organisational culture and working closely with staff and families.

I have also worked as a consultant with founders and organisations and have spent many years studying counselling, education, human development and facilitation.

I am currently the Course Leader for a UK Ofqual regulated Level 4 Diploma. I have developed extended modules for this Diploma where it is delivered online registered with Crossfields Institute in the UK. I am also trained in internal quality assurance for education and training.

It grew through the experience of leading, listening, facilitating, learning, and noticing over many years what allows people to become more fully present to themselves, to one another and to what they might create together.

An Invitation

Let's have a conversation.

If you have good people in your organisation but sense that there is more thinking, creativity, contribution and possibility in the room than your current ways of meeting are allowing to emerge, I would be very happy to have a conversation.

We can explore what you are noticing, what you would like to change, and whether a bespoke Connected Presence experience could be useful for your leaders or teams.
